The Kerala Blog Express!

I’m very excited to announce that I have been selected to participate in the Kerala Blog Express!

This exciting initiative is the first of it’s kind in India, masterminded by Kerala Tourism, to bring travel bloggers from all over the world to the luscious state of Kerala famed for it’s beautiful backwaters and also known as ‘God’s Own Country’

Cruising the backwaters is a relaxing and quintessentially Kerala experience

I was luckily enough to visit Kerala briefly during my 1st trip to India in 2013 and enjoyed cruising the backwaters and exploring the beautiful, refreshing hill station of Munnar.

But I only scratched the surface of what this state, on of my favourite regions in India,  has to offer and I’m looking forward to going back and visiting Kerala in more detail from South to North over a 2 week trip with 24 other travel bloggers from all corners of the globe and of course, sharing all my experiences with you.

 From Kerala to Kolkata

After Kerala I will be flying up to discover Kolkata ( Calcutta.) Calcutta was the first capital of ‘British India’ and has a host of historical and colonial architecture, Bengali food is supposed to be amazing and Kolkata is now regarded as India’s intellectual and cultural capital.  This will be a completely new Indian experience for me, I’ve never visited Bengal or Kolkata before and I’m looking forward to feeling the big city buzz again.

As well as exploring Calcutta I am also super excited to be taking a trip into the Sundarban with the celebrated Tour De Sundarbans in search of a more off the beaten track experience exploring the jungles and drifting through the mangroves of the delta, through villages untouched by the modern world, staying in their eco village and of course, always keeping an eye out for the Bengal Tiger!

After Kolkata I’m also hoping to make a trip on the cute toy train up to the refreshing hill station of Darjeeling to visit the Buddhist monasteries and take in the stunning views of the tea plantations and the snow capped Himalayan peaks.

And it’s All Thanks to You!

So March is shaping up to be an exciting month! Thanks again for all your support and for every single vote that has helped me to be selected for this trip of a lifetime in Kerala.
