It sits in a basin on the boundaries of the Scottish Highlands and Lowlands and is the longest inland stretch of water in Great Britain at 39km.

This stunning lake is a great place to explore and you can rent kayaks, rowboats, paddleboats, pedal boats, and motorboats to explore the many islands that dot the loch.

The weather in Scotland is less predictable than some of the other European destinations; however even on a stormy day you’ll be able to capture some really atmospheric images.

Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona is a stunning city that is filled with many great photo opportunities. Take a stroll through the city and view the splendid architecture of Antoni Gaudi.

Be sure to visit the Picasso Museum and see some of his greatest paintings. If you like to take pictures of your food be sure to head to one of the tapas bars and treat yourself to the delicious regional dishes. Spend a day relaxing on the glorious beach that has been voted one of the top ten in Europe.

You can even enter the city walls and walk along the fortification. Be sure to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Old Town and take many photos of the beautiful sights.

Pisa, Italy

The town of Pisa is one of the most visited areas of Italy and it is located in the Tuscany region. The Leaning Tower of Pisa is an iconic landmark.

This bell tower was constructed during medieval times on ground that was too soft. This caused the tower to begin leaning and it has been falling at a rate of 2 mm per year for the last 800 years.

Venice is another magical, unique city in Italy that will have you reaching for your camera around every corner.

Mykonos, Greece

Mykonos is an island in Greece that is known for its picturesque beaches and crystal clear turquoise waters. Strong winds can affect the ocean so if you are not a strong swimmer the south coast is the safest for you. Agios Ioannis is a beautiful beach with few people and it is a perfect setting for a photo-shoot.

Make sure you choose stylish accommodation, preferably with good views, so you can take great photos from the comfort of your room. The little villages are also incredibly photogenic, and you’ll be able to get some quirky photos of windmills, whitewashed buildings and beautiful flowers.

Ireland

Nothing will look better on Instagram than photos of you and your family living like royalty in a castle in Ireland. You can surround yourself in luxury and live like a king but with all of the modern amenities. You can hire staff or do the cooking yourself.

You can spend your days relaxing in your castle or head outside onto the grounds where you can try falconry, archery, or horseback riding. The scenery in Ireland is incredible, so for the best photos, head to places such as the Giant’s Causeway and the Cliffs of Moher.

Budapest, Hungary

Budapest is a majestic city and it is the capital of Hungary. It is known as the City of Baths because of all of the natural hot springs and public bathhouses that are located throughout the city.

Visit The Széchenyi Baths that are in a stunning building designed like a Baroque palace. The beautiful Danube River is a great destination for sightseeing and you can rent a bicycle and explore the paths or go for a pleasant stroll.

Phone or Camera?

You may prefer to use your phone to take photos as you’ll be able to upload them straight away to social media, however if you are worried about draining your battery, or if you want really high quality professional looking photos, then it is worth investing in a compact camera to take with you. You can easily upload the images to your laptop, and then you can edit them in greater detail, and then upload them to Instagram.
