5 Best Places to Stay in Delhi (for all budgets)
Delhi, the national capital of India, is where most travellers begin their adventures when they first arrive. From the incredible medieval architecture of the Red Fort to the fascinating and colourful food markets of Chandni Chowk, Delhi has something for everyone (check out my post on the 6 best places to visit in Delhi). It is important to carefully consider the right area to base yourself in the sprawling city which can be an assault on the sense for those new to India and to avoid spending time in the traffic and to make the most of your time here. The best places to stay in Delhi include Paharganj and the southern suburbs of the city and these areas are where I prefer to stay and recommend, especially for a first trip to Delhi.

Paharganj is most popular with tourists considering its central location close to the New Delhi Railway Station and the abundance of budget accommodation options. The bustling streets are also ideal if you’d like to visit the old shops of the city.
Those who prefer a quieter and laid-back environment as a base for their Delhi adventures might prefer staying in the southern suburbs of Delhi including Saket, Greater Kailash, and RK Puram.
It can be hard to decide where to stay in a big city like Delhi so I put together a quick post to highlight 5 of the best places to stay in Delhi to suit all budgets.
Here is my pick of the 5 best places to stay in Delhi

The Claridges is one of the best places to stay in Delhi for those who seek rooms with an unparalleled old world charm. What’s more, the heritage hotel which became New Delhi’s first 5-star hotel back in 1952 is considered a major historic landmark itself.
It is located in a part of the city that was named after Sir Edwin Lutyens, a British architect who is credited with the design of the India Gate. Lutyens’ Delhi is a great place to explore magnificent colonial architecture in the Viceroy’s House which is now known as Rashtrapati Bhawan, the Parliament House, and the Secretariat Building.
The Claridges features a business center and a health club. The North Indian and Mediterranean delicacies are highly recommended! Click here to check prices, photos, reviews and to book!
Travelers who desire the best in class luxury should head straight to the Taj Palace. The hotel features all modern amenities and has a fitness center, swimming pool, and three dining options for guests. Taj Palace is located in Chanakyapuri which is just a few kilometers away from Jantar Mantar and the India Gate.
You might as well take a walk in the hotel’s lush gardens or get a rejuvenating massage at the Jiva Spa to unwind and let loose.
