My Pick of The 5 Best Beach Huts in Agonda, South Goa

My 5 Favourite Beach Huts in Agonda, South Goa.

Even though I live in North Goa, when I want to relax and escape the noise, traffic and crowds and take a holiday I head to the still wild, jungly and unspoilt beaches of Agonda, Palolem and Patnem in the far South of Goa. For me, a beach hut really makes me feel like I’m on holiday and can relax – sandy bare feet, swinging hammocks under the palm trees, falling asleep to the sound of the waves and waking up to stunning sea views. Not all beach huts are equal though, so I thought it might be helpful to put together a quick post about my 5 favourite beach huts in Agonda.

Agonda is one of Goa’s most stunning beaches which, amazingly, is still quiet, with mostly low key development, and not crowded with tourists. Nearby Palolem Beach is very popular and widely regarded as the most beautiful beach in all of Goa (check out my recommendations for the best Palolem beach huts here) but Agonda Beach has become more upmarket than Palolem, the beach is larger and just as beautiful, there’s plenty of yoga and it’s even designated as turtle nesting site.  If you can’t decide between them the two beaches don’t worry – they are not far away from each other so you can check both out.

Agonda, like the rest of Goa, has gone more upmarket in recent years. If you are on a tight budget you might be able to find a cheap room back from the beach for about 500 – 1000 Rupees by walking around asking. However, these are becoming rarer and not possible to book online and the room will be basic – usually quite dark with hard beds, cold water only and questionable cleanliness. If you are arriving in peak season (from Christmas till March) then I would recommend booking in advance to make sure you have somewhere to stay.

For the ultimate holiday then I would recommend to stay right on the beach front in one of the charming beach huts in Agonda where you can forget your shoes for a few days and wake up to beautiful beach views right from the comfort of your room. Pure Bliss!

Here’s my 5 favourite beach huts in Agonda to help you decide. Bear in mind that sometimes even though these resorts are right on the beach not all of the beach huts will have a sea view so make sure you check the different huts available.

5 Best Beach Huts in Agonda

Agonda Beach Resort

The Agonda Beach Resort has lovely, clean, comfortable and stylish beach huts right on the beachfront in the middle of Agonda beach. I like how the resort has a very natural feel as the huts are made from mostly natural materials and there’s plenty of tropical plants and greenery.

The resort is beautiful and peaceful, but you still get all the mod cons you need. I especially liked the open air bathrooms. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant is also good. What more do you need!?

Cinnamon

Cinnamon is a small collection of beautifully designed luxury beach huts around a refreshing outdoor swimming pool under gently swaying palm trees. Beach huts here are comfy and stylish with air conditioning and open air bathrooms.

I loved the stylish décor, little details and zen touches in the rooms and all around this laid back, peaceful, back to nature beach resort. There’s also a restaurant and bar. This is one the best beach huts in Agonda if you want a back to nature experience without forgoing comfort or style. It’s just 2 mins walk to the ocean.

Jardim a Mar

Jardim a Mar is one of the most popular beach huts in Agonda and has a good variety of well made beach huts and rooms to choose from that should suit every budget. It’s situated right in the middle of Agonda beach with the restaurant and a handful of huts enjoying amazing sea views.

The beach huts and rooms are simple but cosy and clean and have decent beds (a rarity for budget accommodation in India!) Go for the sea front huts for the best experience. The staff are wonderful and there is also a massage room onsite.

The White Resort

For the most luxurious experience you can have in laid back Agonda check out the White Resort at the South end of Agonda Beach. The resort has a sophisticated, elegant, Mediterranean feel with a swimming pool and an excellent beach front restaurant and cocktail bar.

The resort is spotless with a classy ambience and staff really go out of their way to please you. The white beach hut rooms aren’t huge but are super clean, comfy and bright and just steps from the sea or pool.

H20 Resort

H20 Resort offers some of the most luxurious beach huts in Agonda nestled within tropical gardens but still right on the beach. All the rooms have air conditioning and you can choose from the cute garden cottages, which are slighty more rustic, or the more luxurious sea view villas that feature large dark wood verandas – the perfect place to watch the sunsetting over the Arabian sea from the comfort of your own balcony.

I also really like the open air bathrooms. H20 also has a multi cuisine restaurant, bar and excellent Ayurvedic health spa and the wifi is so good it even reached out onto the sun loungers on the beach.

I also like Om Sai Beach Huts Soulmate Beach Resort, and Agonda Waves for great beach huts on a budget.
